The office can be closed. Your trip still has a start time.
A storage address is only part of the route. Confirm when you can enter, who can help if the gate fails and whether your whole vehicle can move safely through the entrance and into its stall.
Space Index planning guide · Editorial reviewSeparate office support from customer access
Office hours describe when staff may be available. Gate hours describe an access window. Neither a security-camera claim nor a key-code system proves unrestricted customer entry. Record the two schedules separately and ask who can help outside office hours.
An advertisement offering 24-hour access may require an arrangement or prior notification. Confirm the rule in the actual agreement before planning a late return or an early departure.
Ask which seasonal schedule applies
Calgary Secure RV Storage’s checked homepage lists different gate windows for April–October and November–March. The listed office schedule is separate. A summer schedule found elsewhere should not be assumed to cover a winter visit.
Other reviewed operators qualify access around overnight entry, weather or a particular gate. Save the exact current instructions and confirm holiday changes, snow-clearing arrangements and whether notice is needed to retrieve a stored RV. This guide does not confirm current weather or guarantee a clear lane.
Measure the route as well as the stall
Use the full exterior length, including hitch and mounted spare equipment, and record height, width and turning needs. A source that prices a length band may be describing your RV class rather than the usable depth of a specific stall.
Check entrance height, lane width, turning space and whether slides can open with neighbouring stalls occupied. A photographed open yard does not establish a covered space, a verified clearance or a fit guarantee. Ask for the exact assigned stall.
Prepare a return-day fallback
Keep the operator’s current access instructions and support contact with your own trip notes. Confirm what happens if you return outside the approved window or if a gate code stops working. Do not share a private code in a public enquiry or comparison sheet.
Use the RV worksheet for measurements and the listing page for dated office/access notes. Confirm the written arrangements before committing to storage or scheduling your trip around an exception.
Your checklist.
- Date and time of departure and return
- Current seasonal gate schedule
- Office and emergency-support hours
- Overnight or holiday access arrangements
- Notice needed for retrieval or snow clearing
- Full exterior vehicle and hitch dimensions
- Entrance, lanes, turning room and assigned stall
- Fallback plan for delayed return or gate failure
Questions worth asking.
Does 24-hour security mean 24-hour customer access?
No. Surveillance and customer entry are separate facts. Request the gate schedule and any conditions for your agreement.
Is a published stall length enough to confirm fit?
No. Width, height, attachments, clearances and the route into the stall also matter. Confirm usable measurements and the assigned stall directly.
